A Banff ski resort is celebrating Canada by offering a day of skiing for $18.67.
On April 2 -- the day U.S. tariffs are scheduled to go into effect -- skiers will be able to hit the slopes at Mt. Norquay for under $20, as opposed to its usual full day rate of $118 for adults.
“We’re celebrating our Canadian heritage the best way we know how – on the slopes!” the resort posted on its Instagram page.
“Pre-purchase your lift ticket for just $18.67 and deck yourself out in red, white and all the Canadian attire you’ve got.
The event, it says on Mt. Norquay’s website, is “is celebrating Norquay’s 99-year heritage as a proudly Canadian owned and operated ski hill. Come and learn more about Norquay’s future and show your support for one of Canada’s legendary ski areas.
“Skiers and boarders are encouraged to come decked out in red and white and transform Norquay into a blizzard of Canadian Spirit!”
Canada formally became a country on July 1, 1867, when the The British North America Act came into effect, formally uniting the three British colonies of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Province of Canada (Ontario and Quebec) into a single dominion called Canada.
