Two teenagers have been charged in relation to multiple cannabis store robberies in January and February.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, at about 9:40 p.m., three suspects entered Four20 at 418 16 Ave. N.W., where they asked an employee to open a display so they could view the products, at which point they grabbed the products and dashed out of the store.

A month later, on Feb. 9, at around 10:10 p.m., police believe the same trio went into a Four20 at 425 Aviation Rd. N.E. and asked the same question. Once the employee opened the display case, the suspects assaulted and restrained the employee before fleeing with products.

Two weeks later, on Feb. 23, at around 10:05 p.m., three suspects entered Highland Buds at 5010 Fourth St. N.E. The suspects went behind the counter to access products, and when an employee tried to stop them, they physically assaulted the employee and fled with products.

An investigation utilizing CCTV footage and witness accounts led to the conclusion that the same three people were responsible for all three robberies.

On March 19, police executed search warrants at three different residences in the communities of Greenview, Huntington Hills and Beddington, as well as two vehicles they believed were used in the robberies.

Police seized three cellphones and clothes they believed were used during the robberies.

Three males, aged 14, 16 and 17 were arrested.

The 16-year-old was charged with three counts of robbery and one count of disguise with intent.

The 17-year-old was charged with three counts of robbery.

They are scheduled to appear in court on April 16.

The 14-year-old was released as police continue to analyze evidence.
