Woman charged with stunt driving for allegedly speeding nearly 70km/h over limit

A 50-year-old Ramara woman is facing stunt-driving charges after a traffic stop on Highway 11.

On Friday, Orillia OPP were out on the roads conducting a traffic patrol along Highway 11 northbound in the Township of Oro-Medonte.

One of the on-duty officers pulled over a vehicle that was allegedly traveling at 157 kilometers per hour. The speed limit was 90 km an hour.

As a result, the woman was charged with performing a stunt and excessive speed.

She received a 30 day license suspension and the vehicle involved in the traffic stop was impounded for 14 days.

The accused woman is scheduled to appear before the courts at a later date.
