A woman from Essa Township will be without her driver’s licence for 90 days after police say she crashed her vehicle into a ditch late Wednesday afternoon while impaired.
Provincial police say the 61-year-old woman crashed in the area of Underhill Court and the Fifth Line in Essa, and when officers arrived at the scene, she allegedly displayed “obvious signs of impairment.”
As a result, the woman was charged with impaired driving and her vehicle was towed away to an impound yard for seven days.
No injuries were reported.
Police urge motorists to avoid consumption of drugs or alcohol if getting behind the wheel. They also encourage the public to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 or OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
