More snowin’ and blowin’ on the way for the region on Friday.

Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory with bursts of heavy snow and blowing snow.

While local accumulations may be low – about five centimetres – the lake effect snow will decrease visibility which can suddenly be reduced to near zero visibility in the blowing snow.

Winds are expected to gust to 50 kilometres per hour, with a wind chill temperature of -11C and -17C overnight.

Environment Canada urges drivers to take care when walking or driving; to slow down in slippery conditions.

If driving in a white-out, reduce your speed, watch for taillights and be prepared to stop.
