Wanted Muskoka man arrested in northern Ontario after cutting ankle monitor: OPP

Provincial police reported that they arrested a Huntsville man in northern Ontario this week who was at large for allegedly breaching a release order.

According to the OPP, the man was wanted after he allegedly cut off his ankle monitor in the Bracebridge area and fled. The release order stemmed from six drug and weapons-related counts that were laid against him back in November 2024.

Officers from the East Algoma detachment’s community street crime (CSCU) and warrant apprehension units arrested the 39-year-old on Hanes Avenue in Blind River this past Friday.

He was additionally charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order, failing to attend court, and mischief under $5,000.

He was scheduled for a bail hearing in Blind River on Saturday.
