Treacherous winds halting school bus travel

Snow squall warnings across central Ontario have forced the cancellation of many school buses in our region.

Northwesterly winds howling up to 70 kilometres-per-hour will blow 15 to 25 centimetres of snow around causing reduced visibility and creating poor road conditions.

With that in mind, Simcoe County school buses have been cancelled in many areas including in the North, West, Central, South and Muskoka zones.

Shared School Service Transportation covering the western corner of central Ontario, has cancelled its school vehicles in most areas including Flesherton, Markdale, Meaford, Thornbury and Owen Sound.

The Blue Water District School Boards Kincardine area schools and those on the Bruce Peninsula are closed.

All zones for all schools with the Trillium Lakelands District School Board have been cancelled.

Exam information for Trillium students for Thursday:

• Morning - exams that were originally rescheduled for Tuesday,
• Afternoon - exams that were originally rescheduled for Wednesday.
