According to reports, a toddler was seen on the lap of a delivery driver in Collingwood.

On Friday just before midnight, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received info about the delivery driver in question. His vehicle had already left the area by the time officers were notified.

Police were able to track down the man shortly after the call and conducted a traffic stop.

Upon investigation, officers say a 4-year-old was found in the rear of the vehicle, seated on a car seat but not properly secured with a seatbelt.

Police determined that the same driver had been stopped by officers on March 25, for the exact same offence.

Due to this repeated behavior and concerns for the child’s safety, officials say Children’s Aid Services was notified and is aware of the incident.

The 30-year-old resident of Wasaga Beach has been charged with driving while a child passenger who was not properly secured, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and failing to surrender insurance.

The delivery man is set to appear before the courts at a later date.
