Ontario’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU) has not confirmed the identities of three people found dead inside a home in Huntsville as the community is left reeling.
According to the SIU, a man called the police Friday night claiming he had harmed two family members inside a residence.
OPP Const. Dana Morris said officers arrived to find three people dead inside the house, including an armed individual.
“This is a tragic incident that affects our community,” said OPP Const. Dana Morris.

Days later, yellow police tape surrounds a home on Highview Drive near Fairyview Drive, where what appear to be bullet holes shattered a front window and door.
“It’s pretty shocking,” said Huntsville resident Adam Stewart. “It’s a small town, and you know, everyone knows each other in the neighbourhood, so you know, you wouldn’t expect something like this to happen in our community.”
“I’ve lived here for 20-plus years, and I’ve never heard of anything like this before,” added neighbour Terry Snyder.
Others in the neighbourhood told CTV News they thought the gunshots they heard around 9 p.m. Friday were firecrackers.
Investigators ask anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
