Emergency crews responded to a fire at a home in Tiny Township Friday night, which was deemed a complete loss as a result of the damage.

According to Tiny Township Fire & Emergency Services, firefighters received a call at around 9 p.m. after witnesses noticed a fire at a cottage on McMahan Road near Concession Road 5 West.

The township’s fire chief told CTV News that seven units from three stations were involved in the response and no injuries were reported.

The township’s deputy fire chief told CTV News that the occupants were at their primary residence during the fire. He adds that entire cottage was involved in the fire, experiencing an estimated $310,000 in damage.

Crews worked for several additional hours to locate and extinguish remaining hotspots, with a brush truck remaining on scene for an overnight fire watch. Concession Road 5 West and McMahan Road have reopened after being closed in the area for several hours.

The fire is being deemed by fire officials as accidental and not suspicious, however, the township’s deputy fire chief says the suspected cause remains under investigation.
