The province is distributing $60,874 to Seven South Street Treatment Centre and Wendat community programs for upgrades and repairs. The funding is part of Ontario’s nearly $15 million allocation to the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIRF) to support upgrades, maintenance and repairs at 67 community health service providers across the province. “Community health organizations play a vital role in helping people access the care and supports they need, when and where they need them most,” said MPP for Simcoe North Jill Dunlop. “Our government’s investment in infrastructure improvements at Seven South Street Treatment Centre and Wendat Community Programs will help create safer, more functional spaces for clients, staff, and volunteers while enhancing the delivery of essential services.” The almost $61,000 Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund will allow health-care system partners to address their urgent infrastructure needs including upgrading or replacing roofs, windows, security systems, fire alarms and emergency generators. The government has doubled its investment through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund since 2018, allowing more community-based health service providers to repair and modernize their infrastructure and preserve their operational capacity. “This investment will enable Seven South Street Treatment Centre and Wendat Community Programs to address priority infrastructure needs so patients and their families can continue to access vital services and care in their community,” said Sylvia Jones, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health.
