Prohibited ATV driver busted

A man driving an ATV in Adjala-Tosorontio when prohibited, was caught by police.

It was just before 1 p.m. on Monday when a provincial police officer on patrol noticed the man on County Road 50 on an ATV.

The officer knew the driver was not allowed to be on an ATV, and attempted to arrest the man, but he fled on foot into a residence.

Police say the man eventually came back outside and was not cooperative.

Police charged the 42-year-old Palgrave man with operation while prohibited, obstructing a peace officer and failing to comply with a release order.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on Tuesday to answer to the charges.
