Police locate car allegedly involved in deadly hit-and-run

Police in Owen Sound say a vehicle believed to have been involved in a deadly hit-and-run over the weekend has been located, but they continue to appeal to the public for information.

The service’s Criminal Investigations Branch located a white 2018 Honda Civic that they say was involved in the collision that happened around 3 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 5th Street East and 5th Avenue East.

The incident claimed the life of an individual whose identity has not been released.

While the authorities are calling the latest development “significant,” investigators continue to urge residents and businesses in the area to check any video footage, including surveillance, doorbell or dash cameras for any information surrounding the hours of the fatal collision.
