Police in Kawartha Lakes hand out 19 provincial offence notices

Police dished out 19 provincial offence notices and pulled four vehicles off the road following a safety enforcement blitz in Kawartha Lakes.

OPP and Ontario Transportation were out last Thursday promoting road safety and targeting drivers who weren’t abiding by the law.

Officers say they handed out 19 provincial offence notices. Police also say they identified 15 defects on vehicles.

Police did eight level 1 inspections or in-depth vehicle exams and 11 level 2 inspections or walk-arounds.

They also stated that four vehicles were “out of service,” did three licence plate removals and two dangerous goods inspections.

This enforcement helps to keep unsafe vehicles off the roads and ensures accountability for drivers.
