Police: Driver caught at 40 km over in construction zone

After allegedly being used to speed, the car of one Innisfil man ended up on the back of a truck.

South Simcoe police shared a photo on social media of a white coupe that police say had been impounded Monday morning.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle was caught travelling at 104 km/h in a 60 km/h construction zone along Innisfil Beach Road, between Yonge Street and 10th Sideroad.

The driver, a 47-year-old man, was charged with stunt driving.

In addition to vehicle impoundment, police say the man’s licence was also suspended.
