Two inexperienced drivers were charged with impaired driving offences in Huntsville.
The first driver was pulled over about 8 p.m. on Thursday for travelling 50 kilometres-per-hour over the speed limit on Highway 60.
The Brampton man failed the breathalyzer test and was tested further at the police station. The 36-year-old man was later charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Stunt driving, speeding
- Drive motor vehicle - no validation
- Novice driver - BAC above 0
- Drive motor vehicle - no accompanying driver
His car was impounded for 14 days due to the stunt driving offence, and he was handed a 90-day driver’s license suspension.
He has an April 15 court date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge.

The next day, police observed a car driving erratically on King William Street and they soon determined the woman was intoxicated.
Police charged a 25-year-old Huntsville woman with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
She is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on April 15.
