Driver charged after going almost double the speed limit: OPP

A 21-year-old driver from Bancroft has been charged with stunt driving after allegedly going almost double the limit on Highway 400 northbound in Oro-Medonte.

An officer was doing speed enforcement on Monday morning shortly after 11:30 when they noticed a vehicle driving fast.

Police said the officer determined the vehicle was going 193 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometres per hour zone.

The accused is facing stunt driving charges.

Their vehicle has also been impounded for 14 days and the licence suspended.
