In case of emergency, residents in Severn can now find automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in two popular local areas. Thanks to a donation made by North Simcoe Tree Service, two SaveStations, which work as visible and easily accessible cabinets for AEDs, are now available at Washago Centennial Park and the Coldwater Fairgrounds. The SaveStations cabinets are designed to be highly visible and weather resistant year-round. They come with built-in monitoring technology to ensure they are ready for use at all times. By design, the AEDs inside the stations are user-friendly. No training or certification is required for the machines, as they instruct the user with voice prompts. “Having a publicly accessible AED available 24 hours a day can make a lifesaving difference during a cardiac emergency,” said Matt Beers, owner of Beers Pharmacy. A third AED is available at Beers Pharmacy in Severn’s Washago neighourhood.
