Leyla the lynx arrived at the Aspen Valley Wildlife Sanctuary from Thunder Bay last week. The staff soon determined that Leyla was in critical condition and would require immediate medical attention. X-rays showed the young lynx had changes in her lungs and further investigation identified lung worm, a parasitic infection for which she is now receiving treatment. Staff at the wildlife centre say Leyla remains in critical condition, and her prognosis remains in the danger zone. “Our animal care team is doing everything possible to give her the best chance of survival,” staff wrote in a social media post.
