Ontario Provincial Police say a routine traffic stop along Highway 400 in Barrie resulted in charges for the driver of a transport truck.
The traffic stop was conducted on the ramp at Mapleview Drive in the city’s south end on Friday afternoon. According to provincial police, the driver failed to provide the proper documents for the commercial motor vehicle (CMV), which led officers into an investigation.
Police allege they discovered the tractor portion of the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The 29-year-old driver was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, along with several CMV offences, including the lack of documentation and failing to conduct a vehicle inspection.
