In Barrie’s south end, crews put up barricades to close roads impacted by the strong winds. The closures were along Yonge Street and Lockhart Road, Welham Road and McKay Road, and in the Veteran’s Drive and Salem Road areas.

Police asked motorists to stay away from open areas in south Barrie as blowing snow created dangerous conditions. Any travel plans to south Barrie were asked to be reconsidered.
Police also closed Lockhart Road at the 20th Sideroad for a report of a multi-car collision.
By Friday afternoon, police said Lockhart, McKay, and Welham roads had all reopened.
