Bradford motel owners are dealing with an estimated $450,000 in damages after part of their property was destroyed by a fire.
On Sunday, in the early hours of the morning, fire emergency response teams from King Township, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and the Town of East Gwillimbury arrived at The Comfort Motel located on Highway 11.
Officials say the blaze burned through roughly four units on the second floor of the establishment.
The motel was closed for renovations at the time of the fire, however, firefighters confirmed that several people were found squatting in some of the vacant units.
Fire officials say the people were evacuated and unharmed.
The cause of the motel blaze is still under investigation.
