Accused serial grocery store thief busted

Thornbury. Ontario — A man accused of being a serial grocery store thief is behind bars.

Police arrested a man in a grocery store Saturday at 7 p.m. whom they believe is the same man responsible for three thefts within four days last week at the same location in Thornbury.

Police say the suspect was responsible for the theft of hundreds of dollars of stolen goods and was in the process of completing yet another theft when police took him into custody.

Police say further investigation revealed the suspect has five outstanding warrants for which he will be held for a bail hearing.

The 37-year-old Grey County man was charged with three counts of theft under $5,000.
