A Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) train slipped off the tracks in Tottenham Wednesday morning.
The Town of New Tecumseth issued an alert indicating the train was “experiencing mechanical issues” at the 4th and 5th Line crossing.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed roads including 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Lines between Tottenham Road and Sideroad 10.
Terry Cunha, spokesperson with CPKC, said the incident occurred around 8 a.m. and involved two empty rail cars which remained upright.
Crews realigned the train and it went on its way, Cunha added.
The road closures have since been lifted.
