Impaired charges laid after driver blows 3x the legal limit: OPP

Police have charged a driver with failing a breathalyzer test Thurs., March 6, 2025.

An alert witness at an Orillia restaurant called police about a possibly impaired patron getting behind the wheel of their car.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the Coldwater Road and Peter Street area searching for the driver at around 10:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police began patrols in the area and located the car on Highway 12.

A 30-year-old Oro-Medonte driver was charged with operation while impaired, and police say was three times over the legal limit of consumption.

Police ask the public that if they believe someone is driving while under the influence of drugs or alcohol to call 911.
