The Princess Margaret Home Lottery to Conquer Cancer is counting down to its early bird prize deadline. Those who buy tickets can support a good cause and earn a chance to win a custom-built lakefront cottage in Muskoka.
One of Canada’s leading cancer charities is continuing its mission of changing lives with all proceeds funding research at Princess Margaret to improve cancer detection, treatment and patient support.
“Every ticket sold goes back to that, and they are making great headway on their cancer research, which benefits all of us because it does affect so many of us in our lives,” said Angela Jones, principal designer with Lakeshore Designs.
New cancer cases could surge by 77 per cent globally by 2050, according to Princess Margaret. On a more positive note, survival rates in Canada have improved from 50 per cent in the 80s to 63 per cent in recent years.

The prized Muskoka cottage located just off Bruce Lake in Minett and features four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, high-ceilings, a screened-in porch and patio, a gourmet kitchen and a walk-out to a breathtaking view.
“This is absolutely stunning. It’s over 3,000 square feet,” Jones noted. “It’s going to be perfect for any guest, whether you have a large family, small family… I can guarantee once you get here you probably will never want to head back to any city because it is a beautiful retreat."
Tickets for the early bird are available in single packs for $100, three packs for $250, five packs for $375, and 10 packs for $700.
“At the end of the day, it changes everybody’s lives because cancer research is one of the most important things that we can do and give back to,” Jones concluded.
The $2.8 million early bird prize deadline is at midnight. The draw takes place on April 8, with the winner announced on April 10.
