WHITEHORSE - British Columbia Premier John Horgan is making his first official visit to Yukon.

Horgan is spending two full days on the road before returning to Victoria on Oct. 2.

The visit begins in Whitehorse with a meeting Monday with Yukon Premier Sandy Silver.

Horgan will also meet with Indigenous leaders, attend a business luncheon and tour a renewable energy facility in the Yukon capital.

On Tuesday he travels to Lower Post, the most northerly B.C. community on the Alaska Highway, barely 10 kilometres south of the Yukon boundary.

Horgan will meet with First Nations, tour a former residential school and take part in a community feast.
