Police say a Charlottetown woman has been charged with impaired driving after a collision in the city Tuesday morning.

Charlottetown Police Services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Allen Street around 11:30 a.m.

Police say a pickup truck rear-ended a small sedan.

The 60-year-old driver of the truck was allegedly showing signs of impairment by alcohol and she was arrested.

Police say there was also a young child in the back seat of the truck.

The truck driver was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle after police say she provided breath samples that were more than three times the legal limit.

The woman will appear in provincial court at a later date.
