Two men charged, police seize firearms, drugs in assault investigation: N.S. RCMP

Two men have been charged after police seized firearms and drugs in connection with an assault investigation in Nova Scotia’s Colchester County.

RCMP officers responded to a report of an assault at a home in Bible Hill, N.S., on Tuesday.

Police say the officers learned a man had assaulted a woman and threatened her with a firearm.

A search warrant was executed at a residence on Vimy Road on Wednesday and six people were arrested at the property.

“As a result of the search, officers seized four firearms, a pellet gun, ammunition, and cell phones,” reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP.

Tyler Blair Blenkhorn, 29, of Bible Hill, has been charged with:

• uttering threats
• assault with a weapon
• pointing a firearm
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
• possession for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
• fail to comply with a release order

Blenkhorn was remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in Truro provincial court on Tuesday.

Aaron Keith MacKenzie, 53, of Wentworth, was charged with two counts of fail to comply with a release order. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on May 21.

Police say the four other people who were arrested were released without charge.
