‘Suspicious’ death of man in Dartmouth under investigation

Police are investigating the death of a man who suffered gunshot wounds in Dartmouth, N.S., early Sunday morning.

Police say they are investigating the suspicious death of a man in Dartmouth, N.S., early Sunday morning.

Halifax Regional Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots in the Lahey Road and Clarence Street area just before 3 a.m.

Police say they found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene.

A man and a woman were taken to hospital where the man succumbed to his injuries. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police say officers will be at the scene as their investigation continues.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service is conducting an autopsy on the man. Police say they will provide further updates once they are available.

Investigators are asking anyone with information, or who may have video from the area at the time of the incident, to call them at 902-490-5020.
