Seven people facing drugs, weapons charges: Cape Breton Regional Police

Seven people are facing drugs and weapons charges in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal drug activity in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

According to the Cape Breton Regional Police, over the past two weeks, Street Crime Officers seized cocaine, prescription pills, a firearm and ammunition. The drugs and weapons were seized during three separate searches:

  • during a vehicle stop on Highway 28 in South Bar on March 3
  • at a residence on Water Street in Glace Bay on March 12
  • at a residence on Emerald Street in New Waterford on March 17

Brianna Lynn Carrol, 37, and Natasha Marie O’Neil, 39, are charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
  • possession for the purpose of trafficking in methylphenidate
  • several breaches of previous court-ordered conditions

Ryan Joseph Munden, 44, and Sheldon Christopher MacLean, 39, are charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine, hydromorphone, buprenorphine, and methylphenidate
  • possession of property obtained by crime

Munden is also charged with failure to attend court and MacLean is charged with two breaches of probation.

John Blair Tighe, 39, Kristen Nicole Reid, 34, and Matthew Lovell, 30, are charged with:

  • possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
  • possession of property obtained by crime
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm and with knowledge
  • careless use of a firearm and ammunition.

Tighe is also charged with several breaches of previous court-ordered conditions.
