RCMP charge two men in Pictou County, N.S., after locating stolen vehicles

The Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (PCISCEU) charged two men from Pictou County, N.S., after recovering two stolen vehicles, said a Thursday news release.

Brian Michael Smith, 30, of Abercrombie, N.S., was charged with:

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (three counts)

- Break and Enter

- Possession of Break-In Instruments

- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

- Possession of Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized

- Unauthorized Possession in Motor Vehicle

- Unsafe Storage of Firearm

- Mischief

Police said Smith was in possession of a shotgun and “break-in instruments” when they discovered him.

Marcus Henry Angevine, 24, of Merigomish was charged with:

- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (two counts)

- Possession of Break-In Instruments

- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

- Failure to Comply with a Release Order (three counts)

Both men appeared in court and were taken into custody. Smith is due back in court on Jan. 28. Angevine is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3.

RCMP said PCISCEU safely arrested both men with the help of Pictou Country District RCMP and RCMP police dog services.

Police located three stolen vehicles between Jan. 7 and 15 in Churchville, N.S., and Scotsburn, N.S., said the release.
