Power restored after powerline fire in Dartmouth

Power has been restored to homes and businesses after a powerline fire on Sea King Drive in Dartmouth, N.S., left around 2,500 Nova Scotia Power customers without electricity.

Halifax Fire says they were called to a report of a powerline fire on Sea King Drive around 8:45 a.m., on Sunday.

The fire caused a power outage affecting 2,563 Nova Scotia Power customers in the area.

The nearby Mic Mac Mall was also temporarily shut down for a period of time.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
