Paws and Claus: Festive dog walk takes over Halifax’s Quinpool Road

An annual ‘Pet Parade’ took over the sidewalks along Halifax’s Quinpool Road Saturday morning as dozens of pet owners and their dogs got into the festive spirit with a dog walk.

Santa Claus led the walk as his four-legged friends followed behind as they walked through the Quinpool business district.

The event began 15 years ago and continues to grow and welcome more dog lovers and their pets each year.

After the walk, participants warmed up with hot chocolate and gathered at the Oxford Taproom to get their pet’s picture with Santa.

Last year, the walk raised $1,500 for the local SPCA and organizers believe they’ll top that this year based on the large turnout.
