N.S. RCMP trying to identify man suspected in Coldbrook armed robbery

Police are trying to identify a man suspected in an armed robbery at a restaurant in Coldbrook, N.S.

The RCMP responded to the business in the 7100 block of Highway 1 around 3:20 p.m. Monday.

Police say a man entered the restaurant, placed a weapon on the front counter, and demanded money from staff. He then fled the scene on foot, running towards a nearby parking lot.

“During follow up with neighbouring businesses, officers learned that the man got into the passenger seat of a car parked nearby before the car left, going eastbound on Hwy. 1,” said the RCMP in a news release Tuesday. “Investigators believe that another person was driving the vehicle.”

No injuries were reported.

Police are now trying to identify the man, described as five-foot-seven to five-foot-nine, with a slim build. He was wearing a white long-sleeved shirt, patterned pants (possibly a flower pattern), white shoes, a black baseball cap, and a face mask.

The person driving the vehicle had light-coloured hair and facial hair.

The vehicle is described as a blue or grey four-door Chevrolet Cruze 2010, or similar model.
