Newellton, N.S., man charged with allegedly making, possessing child sex abuse material

A Newellton, N.S., man is facing charges in connection with child sexual abuse and exploitation material.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Provincial ICE Unit was notified in January by a “cloud-based service” that child sexual abuse and exploitation material was being transmitted on their service.

The RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Highway 330 in Newellton on Tuesday and seized electronic evidence.

Francois Frenza, 64, has been charged with:

• making child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• transmitting child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• two counts of possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material

Frenza has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on April 7.
