The price of diesel jumped in Nova Scotia overnight after the interrupter clause was invoked.

Prices increased by 5.8 cents to a new minimum price of 192.9 cents per litre.

The Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board says the change was necessary due to significant shifts in the market price of diesel.

The price of gasoline did not change.

Diesel and gas prices did not change overnight in New Brunswick or Prince Edward Island.
