All-natural dog food business celebrates 10 years of satisfied customers

A Nova Scotia entrepreneur dishes-out healthy dog treats.

When Madison Crawford was nine years old, she decided to start a business. Ten years later, that idea has blossomed into a full-blown career built entirely around feeding high quality food to four-legged friends.

2 Paws Up offers original, all-natural dog treats for furry pets. Crawford got the idea for the business when she got her dog Cooper.

“I wanted him to have all-natural treats,” she said. “When you read the back of what’s in some of the dog treats, it’s all names you can’t even pronounce and chemicals.

“I wanted to make sure my dog was eating healthy treats that were good for him and I wanted customers to feel the same way.”

Kelly Crawford, Madison’s mother, said the business has steadily grown over the last decade.

“I think I’d probably cry if I said how proud I am,” she said. “It’s been very heartwarming.”
