Two men charged with weapons offences after gun fired in Nortondale, N.B.

New Brunswick RCMP says it has charged two men after a gun was fired in Nortondale, N.B.

Officers responded to a report of a firearm-related incident on Nackawic Siding Road on Jan. 3, around 6:45 p.m., according to a news release from RCMP.

Police say a firearm was discharged towards a person following an altercation between three people. Two people then fled the scene.

According to the release, two suspects were identified early in the investigation. Police determined it was an isolated incident and the individuals were known to each other.

No one was injured.

A 35-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from Nortondale, were located and arrested without incident on Jan. 4.

On Jan. 6, 35-year-old Logan Cullins and 32-year-old Lucas Cullins both appeared in Fredericton provincial court and were both charged with:

  • discharging a firearm with intent
  • possession of a non-restricted firearm without a licence

Both men were both released on conditions and are scheduled to reappear in provincial court on Jan. 27.

The investigation is ongoing.
