Two people from Springhill, N.S., have been charged in connection with a carjacking after they allegedly stole a vehicle from a woman in Sackville, N.B., last month. Sackville RCMP officers received a report around 1:15 p.m. on June 21 that a vehicle had been stolen near a business on Main Street. “The incident is believed to have occurred when the victim was attempting to enter her vehicle when she was approached by a man,” said the RCMP in a news release Monday. “He grabbed her keys, pushed her to the ground, and fled the scene in her vehicle.” The woman was taken to hospital with what police believed to be minor injuries. Police identified two suspects and arrested them in Sackville on June 25. Zachary Chatfield, 24, and Melissa Chatfield, 45, were both charged with robbery in Moncton provincial court on June 26. They were remanded into custody pending a future court appearance. Police say the pair returned to court on Thursday and were released from custody pending another future court appearance.
