The Saint John Police Force and coroner are investigating five sudden deaths they believe are connected to the high toxicity of drugs circulating the city.
Frontline officers “noticed a significant increase in overdose related calls for service throughout this past week,” said a Friday public safety alert.
Saint John police said the public may be more at risk of exposure to dangerous, perhaps fatal narcotics, and that a spike in drug-related overdoses may be occurring.
