Police have released an image of a vehicle suspected in a drive-by shooting in Moncton, N.B., last month as they continue to investigate the incident.

The RCMP received a call about shots fired on Dufferin Street around 4:08 a.m. on Jan. 31. Police say it appears someone fired the shots from inside a vehicle toward a home.

No one was injured.

“Police are now releasing (a) surveillance footage photo of the vehicle in hopes that, despite the quality, someone may recognize it,” said the RCMP in a news release on Thursday.

The vehicle is described as a dark-coloured sport utility vehicle.

Investigators are also asking anyone who lives in the area and has surveillance footage from the time of the shooting, or anyone with information that could help with the investigation, to contact the Codiac Regional RCMP at 506-857-2400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Tenant found bullet on her desk

While no one was injured in the shooting, Joanne Oakes previously told CTV News Atlantic she found two big holes in her wall, drywall on her living-room floor, and a bullet on her desk.

Oakes, who lives in the multi-unit building on Dufferin Street, said she counted a total of nine bullet holes on the front wall of the building. The incident left her shaken.

“Terrified. I don’t even feel comfortable sitting in my living room anymore and watching TV. I find I’m going in my bedroom,” she said in an interview on Feb. 6. “I’m not even getting to enjoy my full house anymore.”

Oakes has lived in the building for nine years and, while she admitted it can be a rough neighbourhood, she had never heard gunshots before.

“It’s so alarming. It’s like a random act of violence and that’s what makes it more scary than anything,” said Oakes at the time.

Police previously said they don’t believe anyone in the building was targeted and they are investigating the incident as a random act.
