N.B. RCMP seeks public’s help following assault in Atholville

Police in New Brunswick are seeking the public’s assistance following an assault in Atholville.

The Campbellton RCMP received a report an assault had occurred at a provincial park on Val D’Amour Road around 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2025.

Police say they were only notified about the assault on Feb. 11.

“When police arrived at the scene, it was learned that a man was assaulted by another individual who had since left the scene. The man suffered what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries,” reads a news release from the New Brunswick RCMP.

The force says the man is now suffering from life‑threatening injuries.

Police describe the man as Caucasian with a short beard, adding he was wearing black clothes, white snow goggles and had a white snowboard.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the assault to contact the Campbellton RCMP at 506-789-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
