N.B. government extends eVisitNB’s contract by 90 days

The New Brunswick government announced Tuesday it will be extending eVisitNB’s contract to provide virtual care.

The announcement comes one month after the government said it would be transitioning to a new provider for virtual care in the province. The contract with eVisitNB was supposed to end on March 31.

On Tuesday, Health Minister John Dornan announced the government would extend their contract by 90 days as they transition to a new vendor in June, with hopes of a full transition by the end of the extension.

In 2022, eVisitNB had 26,500 active patients, seeing around 235 patients a day. The service aimed to help New Brunswickers get medical help like referrals or prescriptions without having to go to the emergency room.
