Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested after two-month search: Saint John police

A 34-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested after a two-month search, according to the Saint John Police Force.

Daniel Burton was serving an eight-year sentence for robbery and other offences. Police say he failed to return to the Parrtown Community Correctional Centre, breaching the conditions of his statutory release. A warrant for his arrest was issued on Feb. 9.

Burton, a second-time federal offender, was serving his sentence for:

• robbery
• disguise with intent
• forcible confinement
• assault with a weapon
• motor vehicle theft
• possess/use/traffic/stolen/forged/falsified credit card
• two counts of failure to attend court
• three counts of failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking/recognizance
• break, enter and commit
• theft under $5,000

The Codiac RCMP found and arrested Burton on Wednesday.
