Published:

The 34th annual Greater Moncton Home Show runs this weekend and features over 130 vendors.

The 34th annual Greater Moncton Home Show opened its doors at the Moncton Coliseum on Friday.

We have five stunning, beautiful homes to see, showcasing new innovations in home building and design,” said organizer Shelly Johnson. “We also have seven free seminars included with your entry fee.”

There are more than 138 vendors from across the Maritimes at the event, representing everything from home security to pest control.

Attendees can look at home construction, HVAC, backyard planning ideas, interior makeover, roofing and even financial planning.

The show, which is one of the largest in the region, will display a three-bedroom family home in the Coliseum.

“We see all kinds of people, even from out of province,” said project manager Stephane Melanson. “We get a lot of business interest from this show. It’s our biggest event of the year in Moncton. We really step it up here.”

Tim Bone of Bird Stairs, a vendor for more than 20 years, highlighted the show’s value in connecting with potential clients.

“We’ve been coming to this home show almost every year,” he said. “We think it’s one of the best in the Maritimes. We’ve got plumbing, electrical, roofing. Anybody coming through the door, we can find a product for them and supply them.”

Annie Haddad of Vertex Solar Solutions, which offers residential and commercial solar power solutions, emphasized the growing interest in alternative energy.

“Power bills are high,” she explained. “With prices going up, people are looking for ways to save energy and money, so I’m here to help people save money long-term.

“There’s a lot of information on the Internet, just like anything else. Just make sure all your sources are good. It’s a long-term installation.”

The Greater Moncton Home Show runs until Sunday at 4 p.m.
