P.E.I. man wanted in connection with Moncton robbery arrested: RCMP

Police in New Brunswick say a man who was wanted in connection with a Moncton robbery has been arrested.

Police say officers arrested 29-year-old Cody MacLeod of Kensington, P.E.I., on an unrelated matter on the Indian Brook First Nation in Nova Scotia.

On Oct. 10, RCMP issued a warrant of arrest for MacLeod in connection with an armed robbery that happened on Aug. 27.

MacLeod appeared in Moncton provincial court on Tuesday and was charged with:

• two counts of pointing a firearm
• robbery with a firearm
• robbery with an offensive weapon
• assault with a weapon
• fail to comply with a probation order
• mischief under $5,000.

MacLeod has been remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
