Nova Scotia, New Brunswick student choirs to sing with Foreigner

Student choirs from Nova Scotia and New Brunswick are about to share the stage with rock royalty – Foreigner.

Two Maritime student choirs will sing with legendary rock band Foreigner at their upcoming shows this week after winning competitions.

A Cole Harbour, N.S., choir from Marine Drive Talent Management will hit the stage at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on Friday.

The Harrison Trimble High School Vocal Ensemble will perform at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, N.B., on Saturday.

“The competition was to record your group choir singing ‘I Want to Know What Love Is,’ by Foreigner,” said Nick Pettipas with Marine Drive Talent Management. “We took some time to learn the harmonies.”

Pettipas said the kids are pretty excited to perform onstage for a big crowd.

“I told them I was super proud of them,” he said. “We didn’t expect something like this to happen. It’s becoming a pretty big event for these kids.”
