The Oromocto RCMP is trying to track down a vehicle after a 19-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run collision near Swan Creek, N.B. Police responded to the scene on Route 2 around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday. “The collision is believed to have occurred when the driver of a vehicle had pulled over due to mechanical issues, exited the vehicle, and was struck by another vehicle travelling eastbound on Route 2,” said the RCMP in a news release Wednesday afternoon. Police say the Norton, N.B., man died at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle that was pulled over were not seriously injured. The RCMP says the other vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene before officers arrived. Police are now trying to track down the car, believed to be a blue 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer. They have released a stock photo of the vehicle in hopes someone may be able to identify it. The vehicle would have significant front‑end damage, said police in the release. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Oromocto RCMP at 506‑357‑4300. The investigation is ongoing. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
