Amherst, N.S., man charged after incident at local business

A 26-year-old Amherst, N.S., man is facing numerous charges after an incident at a local business.

Police say officers were called to a business in the area of Robert Angus Drive concerning a male who was allegedly causing a disturbance and making “numerous threats” to harm both staff and customers of the business around 4:00 p.m. Saturday.

“The male was located and fled from police, but was arrested and held in custody,” read a news release from Amherst Police Department.

Riley Fillmore has been charged with:

• causing a disturbance in a public place
• resist arrest
• damage to property
• possession of a prohibited weapon
• uttering threats (x2)

Fillmore was remanded into custody for the weekend and was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
